Ott Tänak is in the lead ahead of Pierre-Louis Loubet and Kalle Rovanpera. Summary and classification of Rally Sardinia up to the 17th special.
The last two stages on Friday were canceled due to the presence of a car on fire on the road. Esapekka Lappi emerged victorious from this first day. But the hour of glory did not last for the Finn who was victim of a road trip during the 10th special.

The Sardinia Rally also turned into a nightmare for Thierry Neuville. After being overwhelmed by mechanical problems, the Belgian also got off the road on the occasion of the 12th special.
Ott Tanak take advantage of the situation take the lead of the Rally with a 1-minute lead over Pierre Louis Loubet at the end of the 17th special. The young Frenchman does not rely on performance, but on consistency. And it works! The M-Sport driver is now 50 seconds ahead of Kalle Rovanperaleader of the driver’s championship.
The Italian adventure is however less beautiful for Adrien Fourmaux. The tricolor went off the road in the last stage of the day. The latter causes a red flag and does not clock in on arrival. He will however be able to get back on the road on the occasion of the last specials and particularly at the Power Stage.

Five cars are still in contention for victory. After the 2019 world champion’s Hyundai, the Frenchman’s Ford and the Toyota of Rovanpera, follow Takamoto Katsuta and Gus Greensmith. They are the only drivers to have been spared mechanical problems or numerous punctures. This is particularly the case of Craig Breen who was in the fight for a potential podium.
