Verstappen and Red Bull winners in Canada

Max Verstappen wins the Canadian Grand Prix 2022 of Formula 1. Neither the wet conditions of qualificationsnor the premature tire degradation and neither Carlos Sainz Jr. failed to slow down the reigning world champion, who is gleaning his 6th success this season.

Unfortunately, Sergio Perez was not as successful. The Mexican was a victim of the unreliability of his Red Bull. He retired after a broken gearbox. The winner of the day now enjoys a lead of 46 points over his teammate and allows his team, after 6 consecutive victories, to become the 5th most successful team in Formula 1 ahead of Lotus.

Lewis Hamilton closes the podium. The Briton equalizes his best result this season (3rd at the Bahrain GP) and is ahead of his teammate for the second time. The seven-time world champion takes advantage of this breath of fresh air before tackling the British Grand Prixa land promised to him.

Charles Leclerc finally fails at the gates of the top 4. The Monegasque has long stumbled on the Alpine d’Esteban Ocon. The premature degradation of the tires did not help the Ferrari driver in his quest for recovery. He finally limits the breakage and now goes to 49 pitches from Max Verstappen to drivers championship.

The biggest disappointment is signed Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard missed the mark twice strategically. After his pit stop, he even came out behind his teammate. Upon arrival, the Taurus of Asturias points to the 7th rank.

The Grand Prix was marked by the surprising departure from the track by Yuki Tsunoda. The Japanese driver was surprised on leaving the pits by his cold tyres. He provokes the intervention of the only safety car of the day.
