With the impressive and continuous rise in fuel prices, the mayor of Renneville, in Eure, has decided to act for his constituents.
On April 1, the French government announced a discount of 18 cents at the pump to fight against rising fuel prices. Only here, this slight decrease only concealed the gaping wound caused by the war in Ukraine.
Energy is more and more expensive and you have to organize yourself to be able to finish the month. But faced with this drastic increase in fuel prices, the mayor of Renneville, a small village in the Eurehas decided to offer each of the inhabitants of the municipality a check for 50 euros valid for 6 months at the nearest service station.
The beautiful gesture of this elected official aims to please his constituents but also to help them a little in this very difficult financial period.
4500 euros in total
What it may be good to specify, cis that in 2019, the municipality of Renneville had only 194 inhabitants. It is therefore easier to offer them all a fuel voucher for 50 euros.
But this generous operation still cost the municipality 4,500 euros of this small town in the Eure.
