The session was breathtaking. The Hyperpole disputed on Thursday evening determined the starting grid for the 24 hours of Le Mans 2022, 90th edition of the major endurance classic. The two Toyota GR010s of Brendon Hartley (#8) and Kamui Kobayashi (#7) set the fastest times in the dying seconds of this half-hour session.

In doing so, they have dethroned the Alpine-Signatech #36 of Nicolas Lapierre. Author of a masterful lap (in less than 3:25), the Savoyard is still the hero of these qualifications. Very lively on Wednesday, the two Glickenhaus suffered from traffic and canceled lap times due to abuse of the track limits.

In LMP2, the best time went to the very fast Dutchman Robin Frijns. It offers the WRT team, winners last year in “division 2” a new pole position.

In the GTE Pro category, the Corvettes have confirmed their good form of the week. Briton Nick Tandy set the fastest time in the Hyperpole and took first place at the start this Saturday.

The start of the 90th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place this Saturday at 4 p.m.
