our opinion, from 8,000 euros

Third and latest generation of the compact Lancia, this Delta combines original design, roominess, comfort and rigor.

From 2008 to 2014, from €8,000

As one of the latest models from a brand whose revival has long been awaited, this Delta 3 is an elegant compact 4.52 m long. Besides a very original designcharacterized by a typical grille, a high waistline and vertical taillights, it enjoys an equally refined interior, upholstered in leather or Alcantara, much better finished than that of a Fiat Bravo with which it shares its platformlengthened by 10 cm in wheelbase. Comfortable and particularly large, it has a 40/60 sliding rear seat (by 8 cm) offering XXL legroom. Its behavior is rigorous and its comfort of good level thanks to a relatively flexible damping and in spite of seats with questionable ergonomics. Already very complete in basic finish, Oro, the equipment is further enriched on the Platino and Di Lusso. Turbo engines, 1.4 liter T-Jet petrol with 120 or 150 hp, and (rare) 1.8 200 hp, and Multijet diesel 1.6 with 105/120 hp and 1.9 with 165/190 hp (Twin Turbo).

Reliability 4/5

Proven reliability for this Italian which does not deplore any serious breakdown.

  • 1.6 MJT engine : EGR valve clogging up, sometimes to be replaced; changed cooling blocks; radiator leak
  • Clutch : rare cases of premature wear.
  • Shock absorbers : replacements.
  • Interior : fragile plastics, wandering screws, “nightingales”.
