No doubts for Charles Leclerc. After his two retirements in Barcelona (Spain) and Baku (Azerbaijan) and his strategic misfortunes in Monaco, the Ferrari driver replied to questions from the Italian daily La Repubblica.
“I will never give up, that has always been my mentality. The championship is long and I want to win it. We have to understand the problems we had, they are three blows. It’s not an easy time, but it doesn’t change my motivation “.
“I have confidence in this team and once the problems are solved, the rhythm and the performance are there”, explains the number 16.
The Monegasque also spoke about his progress on Sunday: “It was one of my weak points in 2019. I worked on it a lot and I think I improved a lot”.
A failed plane

The Nice-Paris flight was delayed. So I missed the connection but I finally arrived safely”. An organizational matter? “I am messy. I reserve order and discipline for motorsport”.
Charles Leclerc also detailed his methodology… and the content of the small notebooks he fills in during free practice “I write everything. My feelings on the car, the things I would like to test. I have so many ideas that I have to write them down so that I don’t forget. And I note with a pen to be sure to find them. Before I used a tablet, but often it erased everything from me”.
“How do you see yourself at the end of the year? asks journalist Alessandra Retico. ” World champion answers Charles Leclerc.
After 8 innings, he counts 34 points behind on the leader of the drivers’ world championship, Max Verstappen.
