Citroën is preparing for its summer season with this nifty version of the convertible Ami which will be limited to only 50 units.

Citroën My Ami Buggy ULTRA SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION – For an electric city car advocating simplicity, it’s an extended name that his parents attributed to him to celebrate the launch of a limited series at 50 copies, not one more.

Last December, Citroën had created the event by revealing a buggy concept based on the sympathetic Ami, his model 100% electric driving without a license. Six months later, a few days before summer, it materializes with a production version which will be numbered from 1 to 50.

A plebiscite from customers

“The public had an enthusiastic reaction when we presented My Ami Buggy Concept and many customers have asked us for it. Today, we are happy to be able to materialize the spirit of this concept by offering this exclusive My Ami Buggy series and once again illustrating the customization potential of Ami. Without door, with a convertible roofMy Ami Buggy allows the driver and passenger to feel more free and fully enjoy silent driving in electric mode. » said Laurence Hansen, Product and Strategy Director of Citroën.

Adventurer outfit

The Buggy Citroën Ami is characterized by body elements taken from the Pop and Vibe versionssuch as the bumper reinforcements, the faceplates, the light trims, the fender flares, the sills and the rear spoiler, in order to beef up its game and amplify the effect of robustness. The set adopts for the first time a khaki green color, always dyed in the masscontrasting with small bright yellow decorations. To signify a certain archaism inherent in her adventurous spirit, she abandons stylish hubcaps in favor of gold sheet rims equipped with cabochons specific to this version.

In the open air

Devoted to driving in the open air, it intends to cause a sensation on the edge of the beach, worthy successor to the Méhari. That’s why she swaps her doors for metal tubes mounted on hingeswhile the convertible roof is fitted with a gray soft top. This protective canvas is rollable, waterproof and anti-UV treated in order to shelter the driver and his passenger from solar radiation or bad weather. The soft top is fixed all around the roof opening using press studs. Rollable, it can simply be stored behind the seats.

dapper inside

To respond to the yellow exterior touches, we find this same color declined on several elements of the cabin. They emphasize the practical side of certain functional accessories such as storage bins, bag hooks and opening straps. The seats, covered with a black coated technical fabric, are highlighted by yellow topstitching, as are the floor mats. In short, it is a nice taste of summer that Citroën offers us with this My Ami Buggy ULTRA SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION which will be on sale on the first day of the summer season, i.e. June 21on the dedicated website. Its price, for the moment, has not been specified.
