Canadian Grand Prix flops

The 9th round of the Formula 1 championship, won by Max Verstappen, caused many twists and turns. What are the flops of this Canadian Grand Prix?

Sergio Perez (OUT): the Canadian Grand Prix appeared as a blow for the one who presented himself as a new contender for the title this season. After his disappointment in Azerbaijanthe Mexican had to lower his goals on the Gilles Villeneuve circuit. Sergio Perez was fooled by the tricky and wet conditions of the qualifications. Starting 13th on the starting grid, he finally saw the mechanics of his Red Bull let go. The latter therefore scores 0 points and leaves Max Verstappen sit comfortably at the head of the pilot classification.

Yuki Tsunoda (OUT) : like Charles Leclercthe young Japanese found himself forced to leave from the back of the grid for an engine change. Despite an encouraging start to the race, the driver Alpha Tauri came to sacrifice all his hopes in shooting straight into the protective wall at the exit of the pits. He thus provoked the intervention of the only safety car of the day and did not allow his team to register the slightest point.

McLaren: I’irregularitythis is what characterizes the Woking group this season in Formula 1. Lando Norris was a victim of reliability issues very early in qualifying. While Daniel Ricciardo just managed to get into the top 10 of the starting grid. However, things did not improve in the race. The orange single-seaters suffered from their lean running pace. The Briton was never able to reach the top 10, while the Australian was robbed of 10th place at the very end of the race, by Lance Stroll. McLaren therefore maintains 4th rank of manufacturer classificationbut sees Alpine coming up dangerously.
