This weekend in Seignosse, on the Landes coast, was the American Crazy Week. Organized by the American Crazy Cars Association, the event is in its 10th edition. Taking place over two days, it attracted a lot of people.
American Crazy week, 100% US atmosphere
The American Crazy Week took place near the penon beach. The space was closed, with screening at the entrance by a security guard. On site, catering, exhibitor car specialists, sellers of accessories and decoration await you. A stage welcomes different groups to immerse you in a 100% US atmosphere. Thus walks, among young and old, the autobot Bumblebee.
Big Block, Small Block and others at American Crazy Week
On the automotive side, the great US classics are there. We find the usual Ford Mustang, Dodge Charger and other AC Cobra near the sea and under the sun.
A 1957 Imperial Crown convertible and its in-dash vinyl player caught the eye. We also fell in love with this magnificent yellow 59 Cadillac Coupé de ville, the color of which reminds me of Alexandre’s DS, which had taken me Historic Day.
There was something for everyone, from the most American to the most…. unexpected, like this magnificent Peugeot 203 pick-up with US sauce that fooled more than one!
American Crazy Week and Kustom culture
In the middle of all these original cars, there were more original ones, and in the pure hot rod spirit and other machines of kustom kulture. So modified that it is impossible to know the base or model without really being a connoisseur. But the work done on these machines is simply impressive.
The American Crazy Week is not just for 4 wheels and a lot of bikers had made the trip. Some cars show off their beautiful mechanics. The atmosphere is great and after a 9th edition which had to be canceled due to covid, finding American Crazy Week is a pleasure!
If you missed this big gathering, know that the association meets every month for a date, more info on their page Facebook.
