Alpine benefits from a power increase

For the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Alpine regained some of its lost power after the first round at the 1000 miles of Sebring.

On the occasion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans test dayAlpine will regain some of its power. For the sake of fairness, the three cars in the Hypercar category will be clearly less powerful than last year. The Gibson 4.5-liter V8 of theA480 can provide a maximum power of 480 kW or 563 hp compared to the 550 hp invited to the previous event on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

This represents a reduction of 26 hp on the authorized power on the occasion of the first round of the 2022 season at Sebring 1000 mileslast March.

In view of Balance of Performance table released ahead of this weekend’s test day, the power levels and minimum weights of the Toyota GR010 Hybrid and the Glickenhaus 007 LMH will remain unchanged from the 6 hours of Spa. For comparison, the Japanese Hypercar and the main competitor of the Alpine will be allowed to develop 678 hp.

In short, the Alpine will have a car developing 563 hp for a weight of 952 kg. Attention, these data can however be modified in view of the performances displayed between the three prototypes.
